my other half.

my very best friend (she also happens to be my sister) just moved to nashville for teach for america (which, might i add, has about an 11% acceptance rate out of thousands of applicants - my sister is a rockstar!), and as immensely proud of her as i am, i cannot help but feel like something is missing this summer not having her around. however, so many children will be forever inspired after having encountered her, so i feel confident she is in exactly the right place. 

....and if she happens to meet and marry billy currington while she's there, well then that's just an added bonus ;-). 

i love you, sissy, and i'm so beyond proud of you and all that you're doing.

 thanks to a very thoughtful and generous graduation check from my next-door neighbor, i am the proud new owner of this beauuutiful canon camera!!! :-) i've been dying for one for quite some time now which makes me love it even more. i cannot wait to tote it around this summer!

the beautiful brunette you will find in the following pictures is 

claire bresnahan, and she's been a huge part of my life ever since i entered high school and befriended this radiant beauty. i still remember squeezing into a table at the flying biscuit cafe with claire (two years my senior) and her dad and discussing my excitement about starting ninth grade at st. pius high school. well, after finding myself on the same cheerleading squad as claire that year, i guess you could say the rest was history. 

for the past four years i've treasured her unconditional friendship, reflected on her unfailing advice, admired and envied her incredible sense of style, witnessed her huge and boundless heart (in her everyday life and in an impoverished jamaican city on a mission trip), and cherished her unique ability to truly brighten my life each and every time i talk to her. 

i'm so beyond thankful to have had her by my side and i can't wait to see where life takes her - the sky's the limit. and you better believe i'll be along for the ride.
